Zodi the name I chose for my blog is actually my nickname that gives me the freedom to translate my real thoughts and world views into words shared with you all in the form of blogs.
My professional journey started almost 20 years ago as an auditor with a chartered accountancy firm. However numbers and following rules being fundamentals of accountancy never inspired me so after four years switched to the project management side after doing MBA. Worked for over four years in a DFID Funded government initiative focused on improving the capacity of the local government system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan working with communities and local government institutions at the grassroots level. Lead the regional office of One Village One Product (Company) for ten years spearheading the rural micro-enterprise development initiative of the government of Pakistan engaging over 33,000 male and female home based workers in rural areas of Pakistan.
Gladly I made the decision to quit working for others and started my own initiatives in 2017. These include a brand called "Krafters" focused on producing handmade craft based products by involving and through providing income earning opportunities to rural home based artisans and "ZAS Consulting" a consultancy firm providing facilitation at the government level to private sector organizations working in KPK Province in energy, mines & minerals, construction and economic development sectors. In addition I am strategic advisor of KPK Business Woman and Girl Guides Association of Pakistan (KPK Chapter). Having worked for over two decades in rural development and at policy formulation level in economic development of KPK I regularly write and contribute in different newspapers and journals mainly on the topics of economic development, policy formulation and analysis, institutional development and Strategic development.
